Coat-pocket PMR at low cost
Kenwood’s latest ‘low tier’ handportable radios are small, thin and light. With a neat outline which fits comfortably in the hand, and a weight of just 203g even with the lithium-ion battery fitted, they can also be hooked on a belt or slipped into a coat pocket.
The radios have 16 channels with a scan channel, digital and analogue selective calling tones, and a programmable function key. Other features highlighted by Kenwood are their robust, water-resistant construction, clear, crisp audio – and a competitive price, the company promises. Free programming software is available.
Kenwood adds that these new products are in line with its environmental responsibility initiative, which includes the control of 25 “anti-green” substances under its management programme, including six banned by EU RoHS directive.
