Major changes to Ericsson management

Ericsson has appointed Fredrik Jejdling as its executive vice president, replacing former EVPs Jan Frykhammar and Magnus Mandersson. Jejdling will also continue in his current role as head of business area networks.

According to the company, Frykhammar and Mandersson are leaving to “pursue other opportunities.” The latter began working at Ericsson in 1991, and has been part of the executive team since 2008. Mandersson meanwhile began in 2004.

Speaking of the developments, Ericsson president and CEO Börje Ekholm said: “Jan and Magnus have been part of guiding Ericsson through the incredible transformation that the industry has gone through, over the past 15 years.

“Jan has been invaluable to the company during his 26 years at Ericsson, not least stepping up as interim CEO at a time when leadership and momentum was of utmost importance.

“Magnus has been instrumental in building up the company’s services business, and in establishing and nurturing some of our most important customer relationships. I wish them both all the best in their future endeavours.”
