New chief exec for Tait Communications

LMR manufacturer Tait Communications has appointed Dr Yoram Benit as its new interim chief executive.

Benit, who joined Tait in early 2018 as global president of technology integration before being promoted to chief operating officer a year later, took over the top role from Garry Diack in June.

The company, which is part-owned by JVC Kenwood, is most well known in the UK for its work upgrading Transport for London's (TfL) surface fleet of 9,200 buses with digital radio comms in 2019.

In announcing Benit’s hiring as interim CEO, Tait board chair Sir Brian Roche said the appointment “came at a time of transformation for Tait''.

Roche continued: “Yoram is a proven technology leader with a distinguished track record of innovation, talent development, and a deep knowledge of the critical communications field. He will continue a values-based leadership approach with a strong focus on innovation and operational execution.

“The board is confident that Yoram, together with the rest of the leadership team, will ensure strong execution of Tait’s strategy to build on its product leadership, and take advantage of the significant opportunities ahead as it continues to transform from an LMR to a multi-architecture solutions company.”
