Kenwood launches a new digital/analogue two-way radio series

JVCKENWOOD Corporation (Kenwood) has launched a new series of professional two-way radios designed for everyday use.

The NX-1000 series includes an automatic digital/analogue mixed-mode operation so it can be integrated with legacy analogue radios and systems. This can ease the migration to a future fully digital operation. It offers the latest digital protocols – DMR plus FM Analogue or NXDN plus FM Analogue.

Both basic and standard keypad models feature 5W RF output (VHF & UHF) and are available with the option of a high-contrast backlit LCD. Operating ease is further enhanced with a 7-colour LED indicator that provides useful information at a glance, such as battery level and Selective Call alert.

Among the other features are multiple scan functions, a customisable emergency profile, and Kenwood's 2-pin audio accessory connector. The NX-1000 Series employs many of the same batteries, microphones and accessories that existing Kenwood customers use with other NX radios and legacy analogue models.

Kenwood digital radios and systems support a number of end-user applications around the world, from commerce and industry, aid agencies and emergency services to elite motorsports where reliable communication is a pre-requisite, even in the most demanding operating environments.
