Cargo handling giant signs Orange agreement

Orange Business Services has agreed to provide cargo handling solution specialists Cargotec with IoT connectivity across its worldwide business for the next three years.

According to Orange, Cargotec - which has its headquarters in Finland - aims to become the global leader in “intelligent cargo handling.” Advantages enabled by the multi-million Euro deal include easy IoT SIM card ordering, and “scalable connectivity” reaching 220 countries and territories.

Speaking of the deal, senior vice president, Orange Business Services, Fabrice de Windt said: “Cargotec is determined to grow its business through strong customer focus and improved IoT services. We are very happy to have been selected as their provider of choice and to help enable their ambitions.”

Cargotech CIO Soili Mäkinen said: “A reliable IoT communications infrastructure with local support everywhere in the world is vital for us to become the leader in intelligent cargo handling.”

Orange currently supports over 14 million connected devices across a variety of sectors, using its Datavenue IoT and data analytics solution.
