Beta testers wanted for hybrid PoC/DMR handset
The Toughphone Ltd is seeking beta testers with experience of two-way radio and PTT over Cellular (PoC) communications to get hands-on with its new hybrid device, the Defender PTT Crossover, which supports PoC, DMR, dPMR, and analogue.
The handset is intended to allow a smooth transition from PMR or analogue to PoC and has been developed in response to the number of resellers that are moving over to PoC. It is designed to be PoC service agnostic – i.e. users will be able to choose their own PoC service.
The company is looking to supply samples to interested testers from the end of September and they will have a month to test it. The device will be supplied for testing with free access to some PTT over Cellular services.
The Defender PTT Crossover has a 5,400mAh battery, is IP-68 rated, runs on Android 8.0, is dual sim, and has a Type C 2.0 USB connector. It has a dedicated PTT button and a dedicated SOS button. It also features a 2.34GHz MT6757 OCTA core CPU and 6GB of RAM. The screen is 5” in size and made from fourth generation Gorilla Glass.
