Sepura sells 45K TETRA terminals via UK’s National Police ICT Framework, including 32K from the Metropolitan Police Service
Sepura has sold 45,000 TETRA radio terminals to UK public safety organisations since the introduction of the national Police ICT framework in November 2018, with the largest single order amounting to more than 32,000 hand portable and mobile terminals coming from the Metropolitan Police Service.
e company states that the framework has sped up the procurement process for forces looking to invest in new TETRA devices and accessories while also allowing for sizeable cost savings through its nationally co-ordinated approach.
Gary Maughan, Sepura’s regional director for UK & Ireland said: “The choice of the SC2 Series as the UK’s TETRA radio of choice fully justifies the investment Sepura made in understanding customer requirements and developing a product that stands out as the market leader.”
Update – 15 March – largest order revealed as coming from the Metropolitan Police
After this article was originally published (19 February), Sepura has announced that the order of more than 32,000 hand portable and mobile terminals came from the Metropolitan Police Service. The order is one of the largest that Sepura has ever received. According to the company, the Met's decision to purchase Sepura's TETRA terminals, was taken after an extensive trial with the devices across numerous sites with varied teams within the force.
