Capita’s technology to help Bolton at Home boost operational efficiency

Capita has secured a £5.9m four-year contract with Bolton at Home, with the optional extension of up to four years.

The contract will deliver IT services to support the Greater Manchester housing association in providing best-in-class service to its customers.

The contract includes migrating the current system to a hybrid cloud model using a combination of Microsoft Azure and Capita’s Virtual Private Cloud.

Office 365, Microsoft’s cloud-based subscription to its Office programs, will be rolled out to over 1,100 users across four sites. There will be upgrades to both the ‘local area network’ and the ‘wider area network’ that links different sites together.

The new system will also include a personalised tool for employees to open and resolve service desk tickets and provide data-rich reports into all aspects of services. This will support a level of self-service that will help reduce operational time and cost.

Additionally, Capita will implement a new managed print service that will improve information security and reduce ‘per page’ costs.
