Gould Electronics’ Marie Gould cycles to raise money for prostate cancer research

Gould Electronics’ company secretary, Marie Gould will cycle from Lands End to John O-Groats in September to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Research Centre (PCRC) and has so far raised more than £7,750.

She is cycling in memory of her late father-in-law Peter Gould and because last summer her husband, Dave Gould was also diagnosed with prostate cancer. Following the organ’s removal he is now cancer-free, but it could have been a different story if he hadn’t been diagnosed early. So far Marie Gould has raised more than £7,750 for the PCRC.

Dave Gould was able to focus on his recovery because his wife and daughter, Bethany, ran the family business in his absence. Syndico is sponsoring the vehicle (pictured) that will accompany Marie Gould throughout her journey.

Gould Electronics, a family-run specialist two-way radio reseller, is based in Redruth, Cornwall and was founded by David Gould in 1988 after his 13-year career in the military. The PCRC’s scientists work to create new prostate cancer treatments to reduce the side-effects and cost of treatment and to improve the outcome of medical interventions.
