Motorola updates retail radio range

Motorola Solutions is launching a new version of its CLP two-way radio in the form of the CLPe. The product is aimed in particular at the gradually reopening retail and hospitality sectors.

According to the company, the product is designed to be carried through extended shifts, and is deliberately straight-forward to use “so users focus less on the radio and more on the guest.” The housing is engineered to military MIL-810 standards to withstand temperature, drops and vibration, while also possessing an IP54 rating.

The radio includes a “large, centrally located” push-to-talk button, in-line PTT on the headset and voice-assisted operations.

Speaking of the technology, Motorola vice president channel sales and operations, Vivienne Francis, said: “The CLP has been very successfully deployed at retail stores worldwide since 2012. With the CLPe, we build on this success, having made the solution even better with a lightweight design and an enhanced feature set.”
