British APCO updates online presence

The British Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (British APCO) has launched its new website, featuring an updated design and a variety of new features.

The features, many of which are accessible by all visitors to the site, include an RSS sector news feed, a jobs page and details of current projects. Members’ only elements include event presentations, a BAPCO Journal archive and the ‘Member Locker,’ which enables users to manage their interactions with the organisation.

Speaking of how the new website fits in to British APCO’s overall communications effort, chief executive Ian Thompson said: “This year we have already revamped our members’ quarterly magazine the BAPCO Journal, and added a third event to our reinvigorated events programme. We are delighted to have launched the new website, with areas exclusive to members as well as many additional features.”

President of the association John Anthony said: “The public safety communications sector is in the midst of one the most exciting and tumultuous periods for a generation. With that in mind, it’s imperative that we keep our members up-to-date on all the latest developments, whether that’s around the Emergency Services Network or numerous other current issues. The new website is an integral part of that.”
