UCaaS expert achieves 'visionary' status

Specialist in cloud business software BroadSoft has been named as a 'visionary' in the field of Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS). The accolade was handed out by IT consulting firm Gartner in its September 'Magic Quadrant' report.

According to the company, Gartner evaluated 15 UCaaS service providers, judging them on their 'ability to execute and completeness of vision.' BroadSoft was evaluated on the basis of its own business applications running on its BroadCloud call control application platform.

Speaking of the accolade, BroadSoft chief digital and marketing officer Taher Behbehani said: "We believe that this recognition underscores the BroadSoft UC-One solution completeness, cost effectiveness and its suitability for businesses of all sizes.

"The solution is available worldwide with extensive deployment and support capabilities. The BroadCloud based offer complements our global deployment of BroadSoft Business via 600 channel partners supporting over 16 million end users."

Unified Communications as a Service is a delivery model involving the outsourcing of communication and collaboration applications, delivered over an IP network. Speaking of its ongoing importance within the sector, a Gartner spokesperson said: "UCaaS capabilities now exceed those available from premises-based UC. The pace of UCaaS innovation is accelerating as vendors focus R&D resources on cloud delivery."
