Vodafone UK selects new chief executive following Netherlands joint venture appointments

Vodafone UK will appoint a new chief executive following Vodafone Group and Liberty Global appointments to lead a 50-50 joint venture combining Vodafone Netherlands and Ziggo, a cable operator in the Netherlands.

Jeroen Hoencamp (pictured right) will become the new chief executive of the merger company and is currently the chief executive of Vodafone UK, holding the position since September 2013 and previously chief executive of Vodafone Ireland. Taking his place as Vodafone UK chief executive is Vodafone Group Enterprise chief executive Nick Jeffery.

Jeffery (pictured left) has led Vodafone Group Enterprise since January 2013. He was made CEO of Cable & Wireless Worldwide following its acquisition by Vodafone in 2012 and was responsible for leading its full integration into Vodafone. He joined Vodafone Group in 2004 and was appointed chief executive of Vodafone Global Enterprise, the Vodafone business now serving more than 1,700 multinational corporate customers, in 2006.

Vodafone UK has stated that a successor to Nick Jeffery will be announced “in due course”, with all appointments effective from 1 September. Jeroen Hoencamp will stand down from the Group Executive Committee as he will report to an independent Board once the Netherlands merger completes.
