Huawei has launched its new headline smartphone series, the Mate 20.

The device is built on the Kirin 980, which, according to the company, is its “densest and highest performing” system-on-chip so far. The operating system is the EMUI-based Android Pie.

Features include long battery life – including a ‘40W SuperCharge’ capability – and a 16mm ultra wide-angle lens camera system known as Matrix. The series consists of the Mate 20 itself, the Mate 20 Pro, and Porsche-designed Mate 20 RS.

Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer BG said: “Smartphones are an important entrance to the digital world. The HUAWEI Mate 20 Series is designed to be the best ‘mate’ of consumers, accompanying and empowering them to enjoy a richer, more fulfilled life. [It possess] higher intelligence, unparalleled battery life, and powerful camera performance.”
